During his office hours and confession hours, Fr. Silviu is in his office and welcomes everyone who wishes to speak to him (see calendar for exact days and times). Although no appointment is required talk to Fr. Silviu during these times, office hours are also for confessions and parishioners can book confessions during this time. Confessions will be given priority.

 

Furthermore, Fr. Silviu will hear confessions (and confessions only) during confession hours (see calendar for exact days and times). If you desire confession, be mindful of the following:

Do not use the "book confession" button to book non-confession meetings! For these meetings you are welcome to come in without an appoinment, around the times which are booked (booked slots are displayed on Fr. Silviu's calendar). Walk-ins are welcome! 

Of course, if you are not Orthodox, you cannot have proper confession, but Fr. Silviu will welcome you during his office hours with any questions or problems you may wish to bring to him. He will listen to you and guide you, inasmuch as possible, under the same confidence or secrecy as a proper confession. In our Orthodox Tradition this is called spiritual guidance. The essential difference between confession and spiritual guidance is explained on this page. Also, if you don't have grave sins to confess, for any reasons (or you have yet reached repentance in which we find ourselves as persons of sin), or if you simply desire a blessing to take the Holy Communion, you don't need the Mystery of Confession. Confession is not a blessing to commune, but forgiveness of sins and reintegration into the life of the Church. In order to figure out what generally are “grave sins” one can look up the early penitential canons, especially those written in the first six centuries.
